Past

Cain and his twin brother Abel were born mere minutes apart. It was a joyous occasion. They were the first children Eve bore since her and Adam's banishment from the Garden of Eden. It was clear from the moment they were born that Cain and Abel were very different from each other. Abel was blond haired and blue-eyed just like his father while Cain had dark hair and dark eyes. Abel was a quiet baby whom was easy to settle down whenever he did cry while Cain only stopped wailing when he was being fed or if his mother held him. Abel grew into a well-behaved child whom rarely got into trouble. Cain, on the other hand, was constantly being reprimanded for one thing or another. He was a mischievous child whom always questioned not only his parents but God as well.

He didn't understand why his parents had been kicked out of the Garden of Eden. They had done nothing wrong. His parents--especially his father Adam--told him their sin came in disobeying the direct order of God. In which he replied that if God had wished for them not to partake from Tree of Knowledge than she shouldn't have put in the garden. He was told that the rule had been put in place to test their ability to resist temptation. Cain laughed at that, and said that if you placed a bucket of water in front of a thirsty man you are a fool if you expect him not to drink from it. This angered Adam whom told Cain if he had truly been his son he would have gotten it. He regretted his words as soon as he said them, but it was too late. Those words stirred something within Cain.

He now had the answer to why Abel was viewed as the golden child that could do no wrong. It wasn't because he was well-behaved. Sure, that was part of it, but only a tiny piece. It was mostly because Abel was the legitimate son of Adam while Cain was not. His parents resented him for it, and the fact he was so different from his brother only reminded them that he had not been born of Adam's seed. More than that, it rose the question on whom was his father. It didn't take him long to figure out the answer.  His father was Samael--the angel whom had convinced his mother to eat from the Tree of Knowledge. He sought his father out. He wanted to know about his other half. What did it mean to be half fallen angel, as he was certain his father had been cast from heaven by the time Cain been conceived. He, also, wanted to know why his father played no role within his life. Was he ashamed of him, too.

Samael quickly revealed that he had been apart of Cain's life the entire time. He just never told him that he was his father. His mother made him promise not to tell Cain. He could not or would not say why his mother made him swear such a vow. Cain decided it was because she was ashamed to have a child with the angel whom had played a direct role in their banishment.  He believed that his mother thought raising him as Adam's child would make him such, but he had too much of Samael's blood for it to ever be smothered out. Adam, however, was not fooled. He knew Cain was not his child. However, how long he had known was another question. Had he known since the moment Cain came screaming into the world? Or did his suspicions appear as Cain grew to be nothing like him? If it was the latter did he realize the truth or was there still only doubt?

He was angry with his mother and wished to confront her about her deception, but his father convinced him there was no reason to. Just revealing that he knew whom was his father would be enough. Now, that the truth was out. Samael could take a more active role within Cain's life. He could teach him all the things he had been dying to, but couldn't because doing so would have meant breaking his promise. Over the next few years, Cain met his father many times and the rivalry between him and Abel grew. It seemed that no matter what he did he just couldn't complete with his brother. Everything Abel was or did was praised. Abel was patient. He was the very image of calm and collective. While Cain was rash and quick to anger. Abel was content with a quiet life of contemplation. He believed that the world was perfect the way God had created it.

Cain, on the other hand, was restless. He saw the world as something to be molded. He believed simply living within it was a waste. Finally, Cain rivalry with his brother reached its boiling point. They had fallen for the same woman, and they decided to ask God which of them would marry her. God told them to each to bring forth a gift, and through that gift she will choose which of them would marry their hearts' desire. Abel gave God a lamb from his flock. Cain gift was wheat from his field. He was very proud of his gift, and thought God would picked his over Abel's. Yet, he should have known better. God would have always picked Abel's. His brother could have given her wheat while Cain gave her the lamb, and she would have picked Abel's. He became angry when once again his brother emerged the victor. He stormed off.

He encountered his father whom told him that his anger was justified. He had far more patience than anyone gave him credit for because if it was him-- he would have killed Abel already. Kill his brother? He could never do something like that. His father merely shrugged his shoulder. and told  if he was content to live within his brother's shadow than so be it. His father's words stirred something up within Cain. He knew that he was right. He knew the only way to step out from Abel's shadow was to remove him from the picture, and he decided that his father was right that killing Abel was the best way to achieve this goal. He told his brother that he wished to speak with him and congratulate him on yet another victory. Abel agreed to meet with Cain without a second thought. Perhaps. he thought it was time for Cain give him the accolades he deserved, or perhaps he merely wished for their relationship to be mended and believed agreeing to meet Cain where he asked was the best way to achieve this.

When Abel arrived at the meeting spot, Cain tossed a sword at him and told him that he wished to have a duel to end their rivalry.  Abel agreed. He was talented enough with the blade, and there was something about his attitude that made Cain believe he thought his victory was assured. However, the last time Abel had seen Cain with a blade had been years ago. While Abel was good Cain was extraordinary. It quickly became clear that in this Abel couldn't compare to Cain, and his brother knowing this yielded. Cain ignored his brother's surrender and struck him down. It felt good killing his brother. No, it was just the thrill of the kill period that felt good. The fact the one he killed had been his brother did not matter. The only disappointment was that his brother hadn't give him more of a challenge. He wasn't certain what to do with his brother's body, and decided to leave it where it was. He went about his business like normal.

A few hours later God approached him asking if he knew where his brother was. Cain responded by asking if he was his brother's keeper? God knew what Cain had done, and had only asked to see if he would confess his guilt. When Cain did not, she knew what must be done. She told Cain that Abel's blood cried from the very soil he was slain upon, and since Cain was unable to master his anger he would be condemned to wanderer the earth as a being of rage, and anyone who tried to strike him down would share his curse. However, he would not have to be a hopeless wanderer for long because not long after he begun what was suppose to be his endless journey his father approached him, and told him that he had never been one to submit to the rules of God why should he start now? He could become a denizen of Hell. They need beings like him. People of passion. Those whom had the guile to get things done. After listening to his father's arguments about why he should join Hell, Cain agreed.

   Present

Cain became the Co-leader of the Knights of hell--a position that makes him second only to one of the four Princes of Hell. There is a part of him that suspect his father had always intended for him to become a knight hell, but he can't really complain he does enjoy his position. He does hold those whom join the ranks of hell to a high standard. He will get pissed if people behave in a manner he believes is unfitting. There are some whom might claim this goes against his question everything personality he had when he was younger, but he believes that those whom joined the ranks of hell had a chance to make all their inquiries. If you join something than you do it wholeheartedly.

The curse God had placed upon him is still very much in affect, but only in the manner that if someone tries to kill him they become bound to him. He doubts this was God's intention, but he has taken advantage of it on many occasion. Rather he had made his curse into one of his greatest weapons. He will often gild his enemies into fighting him, knowing if they attempt that killing blow they will become his. Most become mindless minions whom obeys his every command without question. Only those with an extremely strong will retains any sense of themselves, but even then they are still bound to Cain and find it impossible to disobey when he gives a direct order.

The war between Heaven and Hell is going strong there are many whom believes that Hell will emerge the victor. It certainly does look that way. Most of earth had turned their back on God and her hosts of angels. Instead, they have turned their prayers to one of the four princes and their many denizens. However, Cain knows that as long as Heaven has not submitted to Hell that there is a good chance that tides could turn to heaven's favor. He has recently stumbled upon an knight of heaven named Acelynn. This alone is not surprising. He has met many knights over the years, but the amazing part is that she is from the line of Abel--a line that was believed to have been completely eradicated.

He decided that he would teach her how to use her powers. There are those whom might believe that such a decision is foolish, but he has never regarded all those whom fought on heaven's side as his enemy. He considers a number of angels his friends. He finds no honor in killing the weak and hopeless. He will do so with no hesitation he needs to, but he prefers his enemies to have teeth and claws. If training some of their members how to fight and uses their powers is the best way to ensure this than he will do so. More than that, there is something about Acelynn that draws him. It might be that she is family. She comes from his brother line, after all. However, she isn't the first family member he has stumbled upon. He probably crossed path with someone related to him in some manner everyday. It is something else. It might just be because she is a knight of heaven, but he feels more connected to her than he has any of the other knights of heaven he came upon.
